Change is coming.

Spring came and went, a fleeting moment filled with the promise of new beginnings and rejuvenation. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and the world seemed to awaken from its winter slumber. Summer, however, has been just a blur, a whirlwind of activity and experiences that have swept us off our feet. It has been a time of intense hustle, both professionally and personally, with days blending into nights as we navigate the demands of our careers and the joys of our personal lives. As we now transition into the Autumn Season, a period marked by transformation and reflection, we find ourselves surrounded by change in various forms. The landscape around us is evolving dramatically; trees are shedding their leaves, which cascade down in a vibrant array of reds, oranges, and yellows, creating a stunning tapestry that carpets the ground. This visual spectacle is not only a feast for the eyes but also a reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the beauty that comes with change. As we embrace the cooler temperatures and shorter days, we too undergo a transformation, both physically and mentally. The crisp air invites us to step outside and engage with the world in new ways. Here are some things you can experience during this enchanting time of the year:

  • Changing Weather: The shift from the heat of summer to the cooler autumn air is refreshing. You may find yourself reaching for cozy sweaters, sipping warm beverages, and enjoying the invigorating chill that encourages outdoor activities like hiking and apple picking.

  • Harvest Festivals: Autumn is synonymous with harvest time, and many communities celebrate this season with festivals that showcase local produce, crafts, and traditions. These events are perfect for gathering with friends and family, enjoying seasonal foods, and appreciating the bounty of nature.

  • Seasonal Flavors: As the leaves change color, so too does our palate. Autumn brings a delightful array of flavors, from pumpkin spice to hearty soups and stews. This is the time to indulge in seasonal recipes that warm the heart and nourish the body.

  • Reflection and Gratitude: The end of the year approaches, prompting many to reflect on their accomplishments and challenges. Autumn encourages a sense of gratitude for the experiences we’ve had and the lessons learned, paving the way for personal growth.

  • Nature's Beauty: The stunning visuals of autumn foliage provide an excellent opportunity for photography and outdoor exploration. Taking time to appreciate the breathtaking landscapes can be a soothing and grounding experience.

As we move forward into this season of change, let us embrace the opportunities it presents, allowing ourselves to evolve alongside the world around us. Each falling leaf is a reminder that change is not only inevitable but also a beautiful part of life’s journey.

As your Hairstylist, I hear all your concerns this time of year. Here are some things we can experience and ways to combat it:

  1. Skin- drier skin with flakes or itchiness. Combat with using some extra nourishing lotions or oils like shea, coconut, jojoba, or argan.

  2. Hair and scalp- Also experiencing changes in the season with extra shedding, dryness, flakes, and itchiness. Perfect time to take advantage of our Fall Mask Promotion and get a treatment with a take home mask.

  3. Seeking Comfort Foods- we start to long for warm soups, stews, and other comforts to heat and fill our bellies this time of year. As animals, we naturally try to add a few pounds to combat the winter months coming. (It's ok!)

  4. The Blues- Yes, this time of year can be difficult with the lack of sun, early and long nights, and less time outside. Make sure to get plenty of rest, and take vitamins like D3 with K2 to keep your body in tip top shape during this time of year.

Feeling sluggish? Try some uplifting essential oils in a diffuser in your home. Orange, is uplifting, Eucalyptus is grounding, and Peppermint will freshen the air. Take a 15 min stroll around the mall before or after your hair appointment with me at The Galleria. You can also book a 30 min Reiki session with your hair service to get a boost and reset without carving out another day to visit!

Let's do all we can to enjoy the last few months of the year! As the calendar year draws to a close, we find ourselves in a unique position to reflect on the past months while also looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. This period is not just about the transition to a new year; it's a time to embrace the changing seasons, celebrate achievements, and create lasting memories with friends and family. We can engage in various activities that bring joy and fulfillment, such as organizing gatherings, participating in local events, or simply taking time to appreciate the beauty of nature as the leaves change color and the air turns crisp. Moreover, we can take the time to reconnect with loved ones, perhaps by hosting holiday dinners or arranging outings that allow us to share experiences and strengthen our relationships. It's also an excellent opportunity to indulge in hobbies that we may have set aside during busier times of the year, whether that’s reading a good book, crafting, or exploring new recipes in the kitchen. We should also consider how we can give back to our communities during this season of giving. Volunteering our time or resources can foster a sense of gratitude and connection, reminding us of the importance of supporting one another. Ultimately, as we approach the end of the year, let's commit to making the most of these final months. Let’s prioritize joy, connection, and reflection, ensuring that we close this chapter on a high note, filled with warmth and positivity. I look forward to our visits this season!
